Article Information
Background | The Women's Studies Department of the University of Windsor hosts an annual Distinguished Visitor event at the Caboto Club. They recently discovered that the club does not allow women to become members or have voting rights. |
Reason | As a Distinguished Visitor, I was asked to comment on the Department's decision to relocate the event based on the policy. |
Comment | It's still incredibly bizarre to me that this is even an issue! |
Outcome | People seemed to respond in one of two ways: 1- I can't believe we're debating a woman's right to vote in 2014! 2- It's the way it's always been and if you don't like it, go elsewhere. They're entitled to do what they want. |
